The Universe in a Sight

Mon, 01/20/2014 - 18:11 -- NichGuy

Looking out across the darkness,

I stand with my hair wipping all around me,

My flowery sundress blowing along with it.

Below me I see the ocean,

Above me the stars are starting to appear.

This is my favorite part of the cruiseship,

Right in front, where I can see the most amazing view.

As my eyes adjust to the darkness,

I start seeing more and more stars.

They bring wonder to my eyes,

And make me forget all the lies,

That we are the only ones in the universe.

The full view of the milky way expands,

And it's difficult to understand.

This is my place where I'm happiest

Where I feel less lonely,

Knowing what I do,

Won't be able to effect everything.

That the stresses of life won't last forever

And I don't have to deal with everything alone.

Looking at the stars is time travel,

It takes you back to a time you've never been.

Years beyond your existance,

It's not as hidden from us as we think.

The universe is a place of beauty,

We take that beauty for granted.

Our own galaxy is just one among the many

Earth is just one penny.
