UNKNOW, I REST

I DWELL - IN QUIET CORNERS -

WHERE NO EYES PRESS UPON MY NECK -

CONTENT - WITH THE SHADES OF MY WORLD

AND SILENCE - MY SOFT BED

I HEAR - THE NOBLE VOICES

SINGING - THEIR PRAISES ALOUD -

THEIR VOICES - ECHOES - EVEN IN MY QUIET ABODE

UNKNOWN -

HOW - DOES IT FEEL - TO WEAR THEIR GAZE -

THAT NEVER BLINKS - NOR TURNS AWAY?

TO BE TALKED ABOUT - KNOWN - SEEN - FOLLOWED

AND PUBLIC -

I ENVY NOT - THE BIG STAGES -

NOT YEARN - FOR THE CONTINOUS FAME -

FOR PEACE - IN QUIET CORNERS -

IS SWEETER - THAN THE FLAMES -
