The Unknown

We have always been told that Repunzel's stepmother Gothel was evil, greedy and only cared for her own well-being. However, we have always been limited to extra information concerning her past. We have only been given a few pieces of information over her but everyone wants to know what occurred to her to make her end up greedy and selfish. So this is what happened to Gothel, she was born into a loving family, her family was not wealthy,in fact the only thing they had in great abundance was love. Her father, Adam worked in a farm picking up the feces left by animals. Adam was insulted by his boss and his boss's family on a daily basis. He was basically treated like a slave, he would work overtime and would still receive a very small amount of money which was not enough to support his family. Gothel's mother, Emma was the housekeeper and was in charge of completing all the chores around the house. Alike Adam, Emma was also abused physically and mentally, one day when Emma was cooking, the boss's wife walks in and puts a pan on the stove to heat up and when it is hot she picks up the pan and pushes it against Emma's face. Emma terrified for what was going on falls to the ground and cries in pain. The boss's wife just yells at her and tells her that, that is what she deserves because the food she just served was missing salt. Every night when Gothel's parents would return home they would try to hide the pain that they were gooing through. However, Gothel who at this time was 8 years old knew exactly what was going on. Gothel was a very smart little girl who always found a way to put a smile on her parents face. She was also very good at finding secret hidding places that no one knew of. One day she decided to go to the big house, she looked at the time and imagined that her mother was probably getting done cleaning the kitchen. However, when she turned the corner she heard a women and a man crying desperately. When she comes closer she realizes that those cries belonged to her parents. She saw how they were beating up her parents and the she heard the boss yell, "That's what you guys deserve for trying to sneak out food from my kittchen. I don't care if you guys do not have enough food, it's not my fault that you two are worthless!". Gothel observed how the boss continued to beat up her parents, she wanted to do something about it but how would she be able to take a 200 pound old man? Instead she hid behind a tree crying because she couldn't do anything to prevent the boss from harming her parents. The boss continued to beat Gothel's parents until he got tired. However, it didn't end there, after he was done he picked up Gothel's parents and took them into a wooden house. Gothel waited a 2 days before she finally decided to ask the boss for her parents. When the boss opens the door and sees Gothel he asks her what she wants. Gothel tells him that she wanted to know where her parents were, however what the boss tells her is nothing compared to what Gothel expected to hear. The boss told her that her parents died due to a virus an hour ago, he said that he knew that they had a virus which is why he took her parents into the wooden house to try to prevent the virus from spreading. Gothel in shock ran out into the woods, she knew that the boss was lieing. She knew exactly what had occured, and know everything she loved had vanished. She was left alone without no money, no food, and no one to give her love. Gothel ran deep into the woods and to her surprise she found a way into a secret place where there was an abandoned tower. She settled there and found trees full of apples and fruits which would help her survive. Gothel lived there for the rest of her life, however she was not the same innocent person she once was. Ever since her parent's death she was left with grief and hated everything. Her heart was full of hate which is why Gothel is known for being greedy and evil. With this being said, this is the story that has never been told before about Gothel's past.
