Unknown

A large flat platform,

With stairs at its side.

Hundreds of people watch,

The lone protector.

Silence, not eerie, only

Full of respect,

Emanates in the people,

For here lie the dead.

Not dead in its norms,

With tombstone and grass,

But dead with no name,

Only bones and a date.

The protector is there

With gun at his side,

Day and night he

Patrols this honorable man.

As the protector still guards, a new man comes,

Speaking of the changing of the guard.

Now everything is twenty one,

Steps, seconds, and turns.

A new protector is here,

To march now day and night.

The country visits with utmost respect,

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
