Unknown Love

It's really so sad That she missed out on the daughter she had A daughter who has known so much hurt A daughter who for so many years wished she was 'neath the dirt A daughter who didn't know how to cope But through others was given a glimmer of hope Hope and compassion from others was shown Now this daughter is all grown Out living on her own While the love of her mother will forever remain unknown

I started writing in some of my darkest years. I was engaging in self-injury but needed a healthier outlet. A friend of mine got me started. I seem to write best when I am depressed or am going through a tough situation. When I started writing, I didn't have anyone "safe" I could express myself to. The pen and paper seemed to be my best friends, they didn't talk back but allowed me to express myself in a heathier manner. Poetry is something I enjoy but can't write unless I feel inspired.
