Unknown to Me

Is it just me or can it be

someone else has the key?

To what I do not know

though I wish they'd show.

They dangle it out of reach

though I desperately beseech,

enjoyment they do attain

watching me become mundane.

Why do people love to play,

the part of a friend by day,

an acquaintance by night,

then in the end take flight?!
