The Unknown Rose

One day as I was walking I saw this little girl

She looked so hurt but was as beautiful as a pearl

I asked her, "What's Wrong?"

She held her head low and said, "Nothing."

But in her tone there was a different song

So I took a seat next to her and said,

"You see we only see the outside because for you the inside is too deep

You pretend to celebrate tenacity when in reality

You wouldn't care because your blind to the world

Afraid to show your ignorance in society not knowing that it's a beautiful bliss

And the curiosity being answered is like a soft tender kiss saying, "It's ok nobody's perfect."

But in society today nobody feels as though it's worth it

So I'd rather be insignificant like dust

Enjoying the sights that the world has given me not my city

Even though I rep the 850 I wish to get away careless like a butterfly on a summer day

Because bodies are dropping like flies and all my old homies on 'Molly' wanting to die

And it seems like everything is getting worst in time

But like I've said before ignorance is the key and its taken its course

Maybe I'm that little girl

So hurt by society lies and the back stabbing negativity of the people who I once thought loved, cared, and believed in me

They only tolerated me

You see we all aren't as happy as we claim to be

In their eyes I'm the black sheep but they're not as white as they portray to be

So they ridicule like critics and hypocrites with nothing to teach

All yelling at once, "You'll never make it there that's a dream to far for your reach!"

Not knowing that I am a rose and no matter what they say I'll grow from this concrete

I told her straight up they'll tell you fibs, "Man I was joking, it didn't mean anything." But really it did

Because behind every joke is a little piece of seriousness and behind every lie is some truth

So don't trust it when they say, "I'm playing with you."

Then, I realized I am that little girl afraid holding her teddy bear

I once in a while catch myself asking my deceased grandad is he still there

Depression and autophobia sinking their ways in to my deepest thoughts

Because for you I'm never good enough

But now I see why they say human eye isn't so keen

Because in your eyes you'd see so much less

Little do you know I am truly a mess

All you'd see is a pretty smile and not this broken child

I told her, "People like us we spread positivity

Just a little prickly

Not even able to set ourselves free

A wall flower beautiful and in the shadow

And my damaged peddles have taken me far but that little girl remains in my heart

And some times I feel as though god is holding her tight saying, "Young girl it'll be alright."

So I keep pushing

Making myself as blind as love

Hoping one day that little girl will be as free as a dove

And maybe one day I'll have the courage and forgiveness to look down at those cracks

And say, "Hey you've scarred me but it's okay."

As bitter as a lime

I would like to lie and pretend I no longer hold the grudge of a hollow heart

Pretending that those damaged peddles never bothered me from the start

But learning to love them endlessly

I can't hold the weight on my shoulders for eternity

So I forgive

Cause Lord knows after I die I want to live

So until then I'll hide in the shade of autophobia making me afraid

Egotistical, isolation, drugs, alcohol and low self-esteem

So many unwanted intruders all trying to claw their way through my wall

Yes they're all

Thinking this is sad just like you

But I am nonchalant to say this life

Stop trying to be my knight and shining armor

Because I am not Cinderella and never do I want to be

I am not a princess

I do not need saving

I am a queen

You'd look at me crazy but I like to think of myself as a female king

I can be whatever I want to be

Can you define 'Pharaoh'

King of two lands

I know one day I'll be grand

See you've looked at my damaged peddles and secrecy as a sign of help

But knowingly I've put up a "NO help wanted" sign

I told that little girl, "I can here the sorrow I don't have to look in your eyes

Life loves to kick us down

And it seems as though society doesn't want to see us get up but I refuse to stay down

The little girl has finally held her head up and looked me in the eyes

Her story so strong similar to mine

She's gotten my message

And even though she knows negativety will sweep through like dust in the desert

She reads my words to the world like they're treasure

I know she's okay now

A beautiful little girl

Her heart big as Texas

I'll show her love forever

This is for you Alexis.
