The Unknown Truth

It’s a time of sweet joy, when a man, not a boy,

Says to his kith and my kin,

I’ve learnt what I could, some bad and some good,

The next stage has got to begin.

Memory lane is a street, on which I shall meet,

Adventures and friends good and true.

As I stand at this end, how can I comprehend,

The many great things I’ll live through?

There will be times up ahead, some I will dread,

Some places I’ll not what to dwell.

It’s time now to roam, to find my new home,

And live stories that I’ll want to tell.

It was good where I’ve been, as baby and teen,

But I must say goodbye to my youth.

I’ll take what I know and forward I’ll go,

 Into the unknown truth.
