Unless

Honestly, Can't relate to you the way I should,

and yes I've already established my ethical values as a human being.

scars don't dictate when we're going

they just remind us where we've been

I'm showing my true colors

knowing what everyone thinks

doing my very best to speak the truth in a world where all they want are lies.

break out of your confinement.

find solidarity in freedom

and best believe those pretty faces and oh so kind eyes

you call friends

spread your deepest darkest secrets,

the thing that you would rather have in an abyss.

those are your monsters,

steadfast companions,

constant reminders as to why your life is Hell.

because everything in the dark was there when the lights were on

they say experience is a brutal teacher, but you LEARN!

like hell do you learn...

by now i begin to yearn

for more than this.

i yearn for absolute bliss.

on multiple occasions I've thrown my arms in exasperation

because I felt like my desperation

was exposed.

I'm sick of under determination

pointless drama

my goal is nirvana.

I don't think I'm getting through to you.

disapproving scolds

arrogant remarks from hypocrites

reality always with a wining hand never folds

irrational I suppose, but what more do you expect from someone as naive as I?!

I don't think I'm getting through to you

do you understand that this isn't easy to do!

I am searching,

but come up empty handed

I can't find you because you're in the shallowness

at a point between naivety and ignorance...

and its a shame that MY generation

couldn't care less about where they came from or

about where they're going.

at most the typical response is, "aye yo I don't know"

or "YOLO"

decaying minds,

wasted talent

its to a point where I just cant stand it!

life's greatest values

torn to shreds...

I mean I don't expect a utopia,

but don't expect me to put up with the

respect worthy thugs who can't solve an algebraic expression.

celebrities and rouge politicians with multiple mistresses,

or corrupt officials.

raise your hand if you also would like to

double check their credentials!

although my face may not reveal what I'm feeling inside

it is crystal clear if you look in to my eyes.

we will forget half the things they teach us in school,

but when it comes to torment and the people who inflict it

we have an elephant's memory.

years ago YOU labeled me

because I refused to change.

because I refused to conform and become a statistic.

rhymes are always lovely,

but hopefully through them I've conveyed

the horrific things in society that will ultimately become my generation's burden.

I am trying to find my place in this chaotic world, and the only thing I have found thus far is my VOICE.
