Unlovingly

You speak loving words, but most without grace

Time passes slowly in your shadowed eyes

With that doubtful smile I cannot erase

Darling: love does not speak truth, only lies.

Many nights spent awake for you alone

And with no one have I to sympathize

Your beauty I have to keep for my own

Darling: love does not speak truth, only lies.

But tell me did you find it amusing?

Trying out your blind disguise while I cried

My heart you used for your own abusing

Darling: love does not speak truth, only lies

It seems we both have been deceived this time,

Sweetheart: love stole our truth from all your lies.
