Unmasked

Makeup is the disguise of the eyes,

and beauty is what is precieved.

That the colors of the filters,

hides all of my insecurities.

As I tilt my head up,

I see what the world has made me become.

But to be true to myself,

it is me who has covered up.

So whipe off your makeup,

and smile real big.

It's okay that you're not perfect nobody is.

And the girls in the magizine?

Well you won't look like them,

because darling, the girls in the magizine don't even look like they seem.

The next time you post a picture,

look at it and say.

"Is this who I want to be,

or does society have control again?"
