Unnoticeable

I am the girl who goes

unnoticed at first glance, like an untouched pebble

no one bothers to pick up. I am the girl

who everyone sees

straight through, like the ghost who lingers

in your room or behind the transparent glass

people look beyond

I am the girl who cautiously watches

people pass by.

The pebble, the ghost, the glass:

Unnoticeable.

Beyond the surface of the water,

and through the eyes of those who know me best,

I am a table sturdy enough to lean on --

stable enough to offer support for those in need,

and substantial enough to hold its integrity.

My infectious, overflowing energy is the sun.

The contagious beams of light and enthusiasm,

glisten onto those that surround me.

They gleam and glimmer throughout the day.

Vivid rays rebound from person to person,

Brightening and uplifting spirits,

of those whom I am closest to.

And when the rain falls,

the sun shines,

creating a rainbow,

lighting up the sky.
