Unquenchable Time
Time.
You gluttonous creature.
Never enough.
Gorging.
Taking.
Chewing.
Overstuffed.
You gluttonous creature!
Will your ever grow tired
Of this cycle?
On and on.
No?
Oh right,
You’re Time,
You wouldn’t. But,
You must at some point.
Maybe I underestimated you.
Can you make one exception?
Don’t take too much.
Hold back a bit.
Just for me?
Don’t dine too quick.
Life’s life is too soon gone.
One inadequate bite and it’s vanished.
I have big plans, you know.
There’s only one thing,
A little problem.
Or a big one:
You.
Mercy.
Please have some.
Give me a little extra.
And you’ll get to see them.
