Unrecognizable

Hey dad, i was just calling you to see if you missed us, I see you got your girl something but me nothing for Christmas, I even got my game up I been on my fitness, but shit you still ain't no where to be found:to even witness. Is it me? What the fuck is it?, I only hear your voice on your voice mail but not from a visit, I even called you to come to get me but all you did was miss it, now I wish you was here in my life, but shit all i can do is wish it. I can't believe I still think that you are going to come back and claim me as your son, I hope I can still hold a sign up and say "my dad is number 1." Shit I wished you'd give me a call back, all I ask for is nothing and you say "shit I don't know about all that." (20 years later)...Hey son, I heard you out here making it and getting more than enough, well shit i'm just calling you to tell you my life been rough, I miss you too and I see you growing up, and I see your money and your fame showing up. Shit you know i love you and I see you rolling on more than twenties, shit what i'm really asking is can you lend me some money. Yunno help me out since you got that green maybe I can manage, I know I wasn't there for you but now you got me so take advantage. I love you son and you bring me joy, and when I see you on Tv i just yell out 'yea, him right there that's my boy!!" I see you got it good and i'll always be around for you, and when people wanna be funny i'll act a clown for you, and while that money climbing up i'll hold it down for you, and when people wanna be silent i'll be the sound for you, and shit when you need something to stand on, i'll be that ground for you. What's that you use to learn "forgive and forget.", well that means fuck all the past and lets go to the next, let the other bullshit rest, I just wanted to tell you that I love what you got going, superman, with that dollar sign on yo chest. So what you say son, what's it gonna be: lets let by gones be by gones and just forgive me......Yea i hear you and I know you'll hold it down, but how come when my granny raised me you never brought yo ass around? How come when I needed you, you decided to skip town, making me think all that time maybe my words to you made no kind of sound. So why when mama had me you decided to take a hike, leaving her up with me in the middle of those nights. All yo bullshit just not addin' up, look here my nigga i'm mad enough. You only fucking with me because i'm stacking tall, is you a real nigga? not at all. Why the fuck you on my phone waisting my time, when you see me on the Tv you need to yell "that nigga ain't mine." I'll send you a dollar with my middle finger up, just to show you how much I really don't give a fuck, do you really love me that much? or is you just here because yo money flow stuck. Get off my phone you costing me 20 cents a minute, and you got damn right i forgive you but fuck forgettin', I've always hoped you'd be apart of what I had but was you in it? naw because as soon as I was born, you was finished. You say I got you but naw its because i got it, when I was looking for you, you yelled out "not it!" So don't call back just leave a message at the dial tone, I swear I can't stand you and that's unreliable, because before I made it big, to you, I was just unrecognizable.....(dial tone...)

I hear you, my father could have been like that too, but i'll never know. He was killed when i was a baby, he tried his best to be something and someone toke him away from me. I know what its like to be unrecognized. Every damn time when I was on the street and saw kids with their father, I screamed why couldn't that have been me. Great work again man

When Men come back after a while. This was a great poem inspired for those who need fathers.
