Unrecognizable

You made me feel dead

blood dripped from my nose and lip

I looked like I walked straight out of a horror movie

YOU did this

My eye was black and blue

thank God that was your favorite color

black like the color of your car

you made me feel broken

you had left

in the garage

picking up the broken window

I was in the bathroom

locked doors

trying to get the blood out of my shirt

before I went to my house

YOU did this to me

I looked in the mirror again

What am I going to say this time?

I fell down the stairs?

No, I used that last time.

I fell at work?

No, I would've had it when I got home last night.

God dammit I need an excuse

No

I don't

Because you did this

I look like I got in a fist fight because

I did

I am going to have a black eye for Christmas

because you hit me

I hate you

but I love you

even if you make me

unrecognizable

I stay

because I care
