Unrequited
You’re the only star in the sky
I don’t see anyone but you
As you walk by
I feel sick, as if I have the flu
What follows you around is good fortune
You’re perfectly sculpted, like a statue
But you love someone else, to my misfortune
Comparing me to her
Is like putting a prince next to a sea urchin
I wish I was as pretty as she were
Trying to be her is
Sort of a blur
She looks like she would be successful in show biz
While I look less appealing than a clown
Choosing between us is easier than any quiz
Her hair is blonde; mine is plain brown
She has skirts, I have jeans
I wear a cap, and she wears a crown
Anyone could see she has better genes
You love her way more,
Who looks like she belongs with the queens
She’s with you on the dance floor,
So I let her have you
There’s no point in war
You’re both so happy, I bid you adieu
As you stare into her eyes, so deep and so blue
