Unrequited by: Jaay Dee Kayy

See, my brain tends to play this game of word association, and I like to build on that by adding sounds; So when I hear a song we both enjoyed, I have an inclination to reminisce on the times you were around; Truth the told, I shouldn’t think of you and I really shouldn’t care, and if anything I should jump around excited; I guess it’s ‘cause you were strong enough to actually move on, and now i’m stuck in a love that’s unrequited; You know better than anybody how long I can hold it down, and for years I truly viewed that as a hindrance, But the only thing that’s truly holding me back is me and my unwillingness to show a man forgiveness; Avoiding my demons brought my karma, and I’ve harbored it so long that when I think of reaching out, I just go silent; It’s way too late now, you got a baby girl and a family, so when I hear our song I feel my soul crying; I hope the sentiment’s not unrequited.

Since the age of 13, I have had undying passion for music, poetry, and all forms of writing. At 22, I reflect and build from these times. I hope you can take the time to dive into my psyche. It's a wild ride, I promise.
