Unrequited Love

Dear friend,

I know it may be weird,

Maybe even you have feared,

But there is something I need to say,

And you really need to hear it today.

I hope you have not moved on

Because my only chance at true love would be gone.

And I just want you to know,

When you gave me the bad news,

As I fell to my knees,

I could feel the tears start to pour.

I could imagine being gray and old,

and all the places we would go.

I wish we were still together,

And that we would last forever.

All the things we did together,

Are in my mind forever.

I hate the idea of losing you,

Because you are the one I cling to.

I want you to know that I need you.

And I still see you in my dreams.

I want you to know that

I will never forget,

Nor regret,

Because you are my final breath.

I know the paths we could go,

Which is why I keep loving you.

My message to you is

That I still love you.

And if I could turn back time I would

Then things would be good.

I would also find you sooner

and love you longer.

And I pray to God that he can give you back to me

And give us another chance.
