The Unseen

Although I am blind

I still can see with my minds eye

Although I am mute

My actions speak louder than any words could

Although I cannot move

My dreams grant me the pleasure of taking me to places that I have never known

Although I am deaf

My gestures travel further than the words that would seem to fall upon ears that refuse to listen

Although my body is numb

My heart is not

Feelings soar far beyond the boundless skies

In every abyss filled with despair

I light a flame and it all disappears

Jumping over every hurdle

Choosing to fight all the tears

And smile through the fear

Refusing to sit when others say they can’t stand

Screaming when you can no longer speak

Every pain becomes a lesson learned

Despair becomes wisdom

You find that there is no longer a need to fear the unseen
