Unspoken

He speaks his love to me in words unsaid. For eyes and hands more eloquent remain When breath is lost and voice the throat has fled; One must express what words cannot explain. His eyes, aglow in tender brilliance, speak A language clear. No shadow, no darkness Could dim that light, nor fade and be made weak. Bright words from those eyes--lips must utter less! We bask, hushed, in the glow of love's sweet charm, While our once deficient hearts are made whole. For any sound would mar with unheard-of harm The rich melodies of our singing souls. More poetry in silent tongues is found Than in verse, roaring loud, which makes no sound.
