Unspoken

The shields and barriers I erect

The many layers

Misdirections

I’m addicted to

They wrap around my smothered soul

Faulty protection

Ever timid,

I cannot break through,

So I endure.

Seldom looking,

Never seen.

A cacophony of thoughts,

emotions,

dreams,

I hold them captive.

My heart sings,

 My voice is silent.

It dances,

But my bones are still.

Though people look

I go unseen.

You know me,

Yet you never will.
