Unspoken Labyrinth
I am lost in my head
with novels of unspoken thought
Everything to say but nothing to write
Nothing to let others know
Imagine this
You're walking around and you see these walls
They're covered from top to bottom
Left to right
Beautiful lyrics
Beautiful script
Carefully engraved on each inch of this wall
You continue to read and walk
Until you notice you're lost
Lost in a never-ending labyrinth of words,
Of stories, of songs, of poems
Beautiful yet deadly, this mind you're stuck in
You continue to walk to find a scary place
Covered in pain and sorrow
With a million little things
That nobody notices that cry out
Cry out for help
Yet nobody lends a hand
Depression and anxiety have taken over this zone
Leaving nothing but darkness and despair
With everything that comes in contact with it
But it disguises itself
With smiles and laughter
Making everyone around believe that
Everything is alright
Until they dig deeper
And see the true horror of the labyrinth
I find a broken hearted,
Misunderstanding little girl
Who just wants her mama to come
And hold her again
To be called baby girl and little cheerleader
By the most amazing woman in the world
Little does she know is that
That woman is never coming back
By choice not against her will
She never fought
Never begged
Just walked away and never looked back
There's a library filled
With equations and textbooks and essays
Each assignment continuing to dissect my brain
Long after it's done and over with
Just to find out what the final velocity of a ball could possibly be
Who in the world needs to know that??
Why doesn't the ball just fall?
Who knows?
I definitely do not
I continue my journey and find myself,
A princess locked in a tower
Abandoned by everyone except her creations
Nobody to rely on except them
I am trapped here
Trapped in my labyrinth that I created for myself
I am held up inside
Wishing someone would understand for once
Just wishing that wishes came true
I built a safe house
Hoping it would protect me
I would be safe from everyone
Except my worst enemy
And I believe that's the problem
I am my own worst enemy
And my mind is a prison
Every negative thought followed me into my safe house
So I am never alone
But I am
Aren't I?
