Unspoken Peace

There’s an unspoken peace that lingers when it rains,

The skies are dark yet full of life;

They carry what once was imprisoned and release it to a new chance.

An unspoken peace.

The drops hit the ceiling, pit-pat, pit-pat;

I seem to lose track of time.

No words are exchanged;

But there’s an unspoken peace.

I feel nothing but solemnity as I walk through the downpour,

The trees and bushes seem excited to receive such love;

They know it’s for them and them alone.

They feel an unspoken peace.

The raindrops are all so small,

Yet they leave such a beautiful ripple;

The puddle knows their pain, and accepts them all the same.

They too, feel an unspoken peace.
