The Unspoken Things

There are some things that don’t have to be said twice (like an echo)

There are some things that don’t need to be said at all (like the wind)

There are some things that don’t need to need explanation (like the air)

These are the things that should strike us the most with awe

Can you imagine?

The indescribable poundings of a heart

(Sounds of screaming wonder)

The grasp of a tiny hand

(Sounds of anguishing relief)

The breaths coming from what you didn’t think would breathe

(Sounds of silent joy)

The realization that there is life

Can you imagine?

The daylight sun that flashes with ease

(Joy from the simplest things, the special things)

Bright blue that never wavers, a constant sheet

The moonlight night that holds mysteries unknown to us

(Fear of the nameless, of the unfamiliar)

Stardust that is sprayed across the sky without a thought

The effortlessness as the sun and moon travel across the sky

Without ever seeing one another

(Longing for those that aren’t within reach)

Can you imagine?

Entire skies that are changed (Why?)

Whole lives that are created (How?)

(Emotions that can’t truly be explained?)

(Questions that can’t be answered)

(Questions that don’t need answers)

Some of the most amazing things occur in silence

(Never explaining themselves)

Some of the most amazing things display absolute beauty without difficulty

Some of the most amazing things occur without difficulty

(Yet display the purest of beauty)

These are the things that should strike us with awe

These are the (unspoken things)
