Until The Day We Meet Again<3
Sometimes I wonder what could have been,
I often think about you every now and then.
Like who's eyes you would have had,
If you would have looked like me or your dad.
Would your hair have been dark or light?
If I dwell too much, I feel my chest grow tight.
I imagine your laugh and the sound of your voice,
I think what hurts the most is knowing I made this choice.
Day by day, I'm learning to forgive myself,
Little by little, I'm understanding I don't need to put myself through this hell.
Someday, I know this pain will end,
Someday, I know I'll see you again.
I know now that this was not the right time,
I know you'll come back to me, you'll always be mine.
There are still days when I beat myself down,
But eventually, things will come full circle and be better the next time around.
You already mean so much to me,
I can't wait until the day we finally meet.
One day, I'll hold you in my arms,
From that day on, I'll protect you from harm.
It may not be now, but I'll see you soon,
You'll be my world, my sun, my moon.
In the meantime, I'll learn to mend,
Until the day we meet again.
