Until I Saw Them From You

From the day I knew,

I waited to hear the words "I love you."

One day they came.

But, I already knew they wouldn't be the same.

Your words were nice, but your actions far more.

It was more important that you told people to leave negativity at the door.

Every time we are together, it is great to know that I don't have to compete.

You listen and have respect, I feel like my heart is finally complete.

You have concern and like to share.

I know that you don't have to pretend to care.

It's nice to know that we can talk when things go wrong,

You are there to help me grow and be strong.

You lift me up when skies are gray,

And help me understand they will not always be that way.

There are please and thank you's every day.

Which mean more and more along the way.

When others said the words, "I love you,"

I never knew they weren't true, until I saw them from you.
