Until I See You Again

As a kid I yearned for only to be old.

If only they let me know that this world was so cold.

I’m slippin’ on a sweater cuz I need to be warm.

Tonight I know I don’t have the option of holding you in my arms.

I don’t understand why you had to go away.

But I know God will answer my questions another day.

I really am sorry to see you go.

My brain says “be strong” but my heart says “no.”

I’ll think about you every day.

Then at night when it’s time to pray.

I love you and that is never gunna change.

Even though the situation has been rearranged.

I feel you looking down on me with love that’s always been there.

I cry because you being gone really isn’t fair.

But I know I can’t help that you didn’t stay.

Please keep me strong and show me the way.

Let me know that you’re here and that you haven’t gone far.

Let me hear your laughter in the wind and see your eyes in the stars.

I feel like there’s still so much I could say.

But I’ll simply carry on until I see you again in Heaven one day.
