Until next time

Dear Leslie,

We’ve been through quite a lot.

So much that could never be bought.

But sadly it’s time to depart,

A new life about to start.

But I’ll be the sunflowers you love so much,

And although I’ll miss you a bunch,

One day we’ll continue the fun.

But for now you’ll be my sun.

I’ll follow each rise and fall,

And please be sure to call.

Because although we’ll soon be far away,

I’ll support you, night and day.

I have always hated saying goodbye,

Because it felt like a friendship soon to die.

It always felt like something final,

Which left me in a sense of denial.

So when the time comes that you say goodbye,

Know that I will not lie.

And when we depart and all is set,

Please, do not fret.

So for lack of a better rhyme,

I’ll say until next time,

For I will not say goodbye,

Because this friendship cannot die.

Your friend,

Amber
