Until Now

Never could say goodbye

Just couldn't let go of you

My prince charming

My whole entire world

How could I say goodbye

The days of wondering

The nights of crying

The second thought

I just still couldn't say goodbye

He was my first in a few ways

My first real date

My first real relationship

How could I say goodbye

I loved him more than life

I would go through hell for him

He was absolutely perfect in my eyes

His eyes of wonder

His mind of absolute mystery

His tendency to be perfectly imperfect

He was the light of my life

Then that day came

He broke my heart

My whole world shattered

My mind was just a hopeless wreck

Time just didn't move fast enough

But I did start to heal a little

I found myself on a few dates

Called myself moving on

Deleted a few pictures

Threw away his gifts

Hung out with my girls

Went away and had a good time

Started even trying to get back to normal

Get back to the way things used to be

Stopped caring little by little

But I never truly let go

I will forever respect him for his courage

He did what I couldn't do at that time

He let me go,

He said goodbye

The truth was, I wasn't over him

I never said goodbye

I couldn't say goodbye

How could I?

Then one day I asked myself

Why can't I say goodbye

Couldn't come up with an answer

Then, I realized

Saying goodbye,

Well.t meant he was never coming back

My prince charming was gone forever

Never too be seen again

It was really over

I had to tell myself that

I had to cry one more time

I had to cut all ties

I had to let time heal

I had to let go of him

And I never could say goodbye

UNTIL NOW
