Until We Meet Again
Around 2:55 pm I arrived back at the house,
my grandparents house,
with a small vanilla ice cream topped with sprinkles from Sundaes.
I did not go to school that day.
Not because I was sick or needed to finish a project I didn’t have time to do,
but because my Pop was dying,
in a hospital bed,
in the living room.
Seven minutes later,
3:02 pm,
Pop took his last breath.
Gone.
But not for forever,
just until I get to heaven.
