untitled 1
I never showed it
but you made it clear
I am stronger than you ever will be
but I wasn’t on that January evening
sitting in my car with tear soaked cheeks
I made the decision, formally
but you had it in mind, I’m sure.
it came in quiet whispers.
you knew, I knew.
we were only waiting,
waiting patiently,
patiently, we always were patient
waiting for the tides to come back low.
