Untitled

The smallest room can feel like a cavern When you’re alone with your own fear and insecurities As I sit on an unfamiliar bed, with unfamiliar sheets And listen to the sound of an unfamiliar person Am I changed forever now? What is coming for me in the future? Uninitiated, yet thrown into a world dominated by pain and self hate I learned quickly. Buried memories, creeping forth on their own, again Greyed and dusty, but moving to the front of my mind Breaking out of the darkness The monster that you worked hard to believe was never real Bringing your own light forthTo an inevitable confrontation Is this the time your nightmares are slain? They retreat again, defeated but not destroyed Beaten back into submission to recoup Until they once again emerge.
