Untitled

It hurts me to know you don't want me to succeed. Just by one glance, My skin is perceived. I could climb the highest mountain, Just to prove, To you, That I'm capable. Capable of being the best, the finest, the incomparable, The inimitable, the preeminent, The second to none. But even that wouldn't break through the film of ignorance plastered upon your eyes. Those eyes. Those same eyes that look at me in surprise And wonder why I got my head up to the sky. It's not the cockiness, it's the confidence, The confidence that brought me this, Pride. No scratch that. It's not the confidence, It's the encouragement, the encouragement that gave me this, Love. And love is what I have to keep me above these murky waters Filled with vial lies and tribulations. The love for myself. The image you see now is only a few steps away from becoming a master piece. Broken pieces turn into a puzzle that takes years to solve, Yes. But in the end, the picture is clear. It's me, Succeeding. And you? Still dreaming.
