untitled
when she stepped out of her car
she could already hear the waves splashing against the rocks,
the cold air was thick
with the determined rain soon to come.
her hair was braided.
she had dressed warm.
her mother had insisted with the weather they had been having.
the cold, however, was no longer bothersome.
it, like everything else now,
has become an indifferent factor in her life.
as she walked towards the sand
the loneliness she often felt came back.
it trudged along with her
to all the places she goes.
even with others, it demands to be around.
it seemed to be the only undying relationship
she can carry on with.
everything else to her seemed like
it ended as quick as it began.
but loneliness stayed through it all.
breathing in the cold air,
she felt herself gain back the control she needed.
you have so many friends,
there is no reason for you,
of all people, to feel such a way.
repeating this until it felt true.
she felt the pain in her chest,
the freezing air was beginning to hurt her fingers.
so she breathed in once again,
and left the open area to go back.
