Untitled

When I was 16,

I first heard the call.

The song in my blood;

Insistent, but small.

The bright burst of fruit,

A hint of the oak,

I felt wine in my veins

Sing the first note.

Then I was 18

Heading off to more school,

Had my first sip of coffee

And then the song grew.

Like a second voice

Added its tone to the first,

Singing sanguine,

And growing the thirst.

Then a full orchestra,

A symphony sound.

23 years old,

I was lost; now I'm found.

A fire, a flood

Aches in my veins.

A sweet burning,

An exquisite pain.

I feel a stranger's heartbeat

Start to drum in my cheat.

A soft voice croons my name:

It's divine, it's celeste.

Not just a bloodlust,

Not how I'm feeling.

This time the song

Calls for all of my being.

So I know where to follow.

I know what to do.

This call for my all?

It's simple- it's you.
