Skinned knees hurt but the wound eventually heals over time and disappears.
You are etched in my heart and can't simply be erased, for scars last forever.
With every heart beat, it's a reminder of what once was and the memories return.
I smile, I laugh, and I cry, for you were always my hardest goodbye.
