untitled

the words dance on my tongue like ballerinas

spinning in circles

begging to be released,

your eyes stare my words down

jumbling the letters to create a new alphabet

we are both unfamiliar with,

why are you staring at me

please stop staring at me

ohmygod if you don’t stop staring at me,

your face drops

you already know what i’m going to say

but you don’t feel the same way,

so you run

like baby deer in the road

like a predator catching its next prey

you run until i am out of sight out of mind,

because the thought of commitment makes your skin crawl

makes your head pound

makes your veins explode,

how could i expect you to be with me and only me

how could i set expectations from you

how could i expect human decency,

from a boy like you.
