untitled9

I met a girl

who mde me want to stop time

because she would be leaving in two months

and instead of weeping all I could think was

how could get to be someone she could love in that short time

so I studied a language

and made her laugh

and practiced an instrument that I hated because all I could play was lies

but she liked the sound

I said and felt things I'd never had the courage for

and put my soul through a crash course epiphan

at the end of the two months

she left me for India

I left her for my solitude

because when I looked at her back

dimly lit in the kitchen making tea

I felt like her time

and my time

weren't connected

maybe instead of stopping time

I wanted to sew it

into a quil

and place our patches side by sde

but the thing is

I never learned to sew
