Untraceable Steps

Carried a miles-distance are these desperate cries

Tears collected as one, as the assembly weeps

Weary bare feet drag along dry soil under heavy skies

Envisions of hopeful forthcomings, leads the discarded in flee

Tears collected as one, as the assembly weeps

Clouded eyes scatter, foraging to revive

Envisions of promising forthcomings leads the discarded in flee

Directionless, treading unfamiliar land, with hearts and minds deprived

Clouded eyes scatter, foraging to revive

Traveling beneath the rising sun until the sky breaks

Directionless, treading unfamiliar land, with hearts and minds deprived

But with fingers clasped together, prepared to grasp what is at stake

Traveling beneath the rising sun until the sky breaks

Every stride, they wince, as their feet collide with the harsh texture of the earth's embrace

But with fingers clasped together, prepared to grasp what is at stake

They root four walls around them as they rest their heads in surfaces of an unknown place
