Unwanted

The difference now

From before

This was unwanted

I laid bleeding on the floor

I try not to think

Of that dreadful night

The night I let someone lie

I let him come inside

I let him tear me apart

Limb from limb

I let him leave me there

Staring off to no where

Wishing it would all end

This chapter of my life

It started a few months back

I remember it like it was yesterday

He lied his way into my life

That should have thrown up a red flag

But I listened to everyone else

I let down my guard and invited him in

I started to believe I needed new friends

I started to think it would help

We talked on the phone

About nothing at all

I mostly listened as he would rant

He hated his life

The people inside of his walls

He needed new friends

He  told me again and again

Always felt so alone

LCaldwell

I am a writer, blogger and poet. I enjoy writing and do so when the mood strikes me. I have been known to stop what I am doing to jot down a poem. There are days when the words flow from my mind like water. I am also a parent to 3 amazing young men. I am married to an amazing man as well. We rang in the new year as newly weds. Each year we celebrate our anniversary as we close another chapter in the book of life.
