Unwanted to Wanted

Well, it has been a long time since I was called the undesirable label. Oh! How I wished the label wasn’t attached to me.
But, a foster girl was just what I was… all day, every day.
Foster girl wasn’t what I wanted it to be.
It was just the way it had to be.
I just wanted to be called by MY name… Cierra.
Because that name was me, and it’s who I am!

When I think of the times before I was labeled “foster girl”, all I think about is how I was still unwanted.

When I hear “foster girl” I hear UNWANTED!
Over and over and over again.
With everything inside of me I wanted to yell,
PLEASE, LOVE ME!!!
But… would anyone love me the way I was?
DOES ANYONE LOVE ME?!
I had no answer,
Until that one day.
The one day I thought was a dream.
But it was a dream… a dream that finally came true.
That day was an important part of my life.
It was the day I was WANTED!
It was the day I was called Daughter!
It was the start of a love that would last forever!
It was the day of my ADOPTION!

No more UNWANTED! From that day on I was…
WANTED!
