the unwelcome guest

I have a constant companion everywhere i go

he comes to my house everyday even though i say no

he talks to everyone in my family no matter how big or small

He hold no predjudice at all

he picks up the babies he hugs the old

he visits the dogs that he loves to hold

He greets them with a cold shake of his hand

everywhere he walks he leaves a trail of sand

I now walk along the empty hallways of my old home

look at the ripped up curtains, the blood splattered walls, and the knocked over lawn gnome

my blood starts to race and my face goes pale

i know the sounds of the footsteps so well

it is the sound  of my old friend visiting me again

I wonder if i can really call him my friend

in the house there is only me im the only one left in my family

this is a story that can never be told

since Mr. Death has been with me since i was five years old.
