Upon a Dreadful Future
Dear The Future,
As a possible future resident, I would like to ask some questions regarding the life your residents live.
Is it as hopeless as it looks from outside the gates?
Do the residents enjoy living in The Future?
What is life like for a person who has no drive or inspiration?
Is The Future a place that will help those in need?
Does The Future discriminate?
You see, I've been raised my entire life to look forward to living in The Future, but I'm not sure I can handle being let down by what is supposed to be a beautiful place filled with hope and possibilities. I can't be let down by the utopia we've been promised since childhood. Does life get easier? Will I find the girl of my dreams, filled with happiness and helps lift me out of the dark hole I dig myself when scared by The Future? Will the sun be bright and the world filled with optimism, unlimited ambition, and the energy to persue my dreams? Does music float through the air where ever you go? Or does it drown in the darkness? The selfish, corrupt, destructive, hate-filled world I fear is what The Future holds. When the gates of The Future open, will it's dark contents invade our world and suffocate any living sliver of hope?
Is The Future the Pandora's Box of our time? How can we stop it from opening?
Should I just not go to The Future at all?
Let me know your thoughts,
Katie (a possible resident)
