Upon the Dwindling of Our Adulation

In bustling day when action I took For exuberance near I looked and looked I adverted to a roaring noise And energized wails of pleasant voice. That bold sound of "See!" and "See!" Let no man know is what set me free. I, starting up, did see a sign, And to my God I thought divine Would let me know what world was this And would not leave me succorless. I looked up to see each candidate, And did not know at all what this meant. Wond'red I have since my birth Say now, have women worth? Surely, in this time, they do, This world that I am sure confused. For in front of me were several names On a piece of paper that was surely great And on this paper I could choose Exactly who must or mustn't lose. Oh my, oh my, I could vote! And, you must believe, I surely wrote. I wrote who should win and who would serve me best And voted with the beliefs from within my chest. Who will win? Tell would time. All would wait for those bells to chime. Clocks did turn and started the day That the whole would learn who'd stand in the archway Arose my eyes, so startl'd to see Who the new President would actually be For that winning President was surely a matron, And was strong and sincere like a patron. The women these days are compelling and full of power But the way they remember His name is sour. In this time people don't remember That savior who was born in December Who I shall devote to prayer and love And always think of Him above. No pleasant tale shall e'er be told For my past is all I know. I want to live for Him I want to work for Him I want to offer Him gold For He will never think me old. With Him I am never alone Nor am I cold. My life I continue living And keep the angels above me singing For I am not a part of this world And shall forever see my past as pearled.
