Ups&Downs: Thanks Mama
Now a’days I wonder where my real mom really is,
Because when I look at you I see your dead skin on a live body.
It’s the opposite of bliss,
The opposite of life.
I really just don’t know who you are,
Because my mom was never like you.
Sometimes I hate to be with you because I see you struggle
The tears in your eyes that look like puddles.
Me being with you unfortunately won’t be true.
But I remember my mom
She gave me love a growing boy needs.
All the times she took me to Chuck E. Cheese,
Praying by her side on my knees
As we prayed for a better life begging the Lord please.
The times we didn’t have much to eat,
But she still somehow got food for me.
Her care was something unique.
On her birthdays trying to give her something with her favorite color
Pink.
Nice talks with her that made me think.
Did everything she could to get everything on my wish list.
She was a strong believer in success.
Sounds like me,
But she never did anything to get there.
She lost her will to live.
That’s why we’re different,
As much as we’re the same.
I will always remember her more
Than what she did
Making life seem easy for me as a kid,
But just like the dream I had of her
Getting off the bus in the back
Without a warning,
But it’s not her fault having a different stop than me.
Thanks mama for always providing for me.
