Urban Prey

Harsh and cold

Is the shattered concrete

Click clicking beneath the feet

Of jostled ignorance

Heavily breathing

Pant panting anxiety

Beneath these metal ghosts

From a stranger behind

Step stepping in time

With a frightened youth

Sheltered and on display

Never met

With the beat beating of his heart

This adrenaline

Throb throbbing in his brain

Even though the stranger

Scream screaming himself

Can smell

An easy pray
