Us, with the Face

Us, with the Face Eduard Brown False hope conjured from false pretenses, Blurred focus seen through contrary lenses, Eyes sewn shut from cluttered voices, Preventing man from conducting wise choices, Flashing lights dim perpendicular lines, Which we pilot our lives on a quest to find, Reason for living, and reasoning to smile, As we chart an uncharted mile. We wear a, face. Not just the face that we seek to hold true, But one that covers our eyes from being seen through, As countless tears well up through the years, Nothing can cause our tortured fears, But us— nay them! Those that wear the face! The seeping sorrows that traverse the crevices of this face, Longing to be released to claim their rightful place, Like fireworks bursting, replicating embers upon embers, And as subtle as leaves, proving their colors in September. I no longer wear their, face. Instead, I wear mine.
