Use to Adore

CC BY-ND
This isn't who i was supposed to be This isn't what i was meant to be I wasn't meant to be the person to give more than Id ever receive Just to make someone happy To make them feel higher than me Give them the justification Give me the lack of sophistication Make me feel little Just to make them feel a little bigger While I shrink They're growing into the version of me that i need to be I'm giving them the satisfaction of knowing they've won But i need to be the one that makes my own passion Follow that direction which leads me to find my own essence I need to be that which makes me crave my own presence Stop chasing the people that repress me, I need to find something that doesn't depress me I need to be chasing my fears at full speed Not hiding away from all the things i hear Dragging my soul along the gravel Cuts and bruises, opening myself up to the pain Letting it drain all my drive and motivation Stop lingering and staling on my contemplation Starving myself of the success Strive to be the one who can express Only through my voice is which i can posses Power and confidences I don't lack I just need to find a way to get them back I like when you underestimate So I can come back with a clean slate, gold plate Shiney and new, something hard for you to chew Now you don't recognize me anymore different from the person you use to adore Changed into something you can't ignore So, see me again today But I'm not here to play Your games no longer holding me within the lines during my day I don't have the patience in me anymore Like I said, I'm not the person you use to adore
