THE USUAL GRIMABL SHOULD YOU MEET

The cliched Grimbal stands under ten feet three

going about two thousand pounds and one

long bony fingers made to give painful pinches

close your eyes at night you will see.

Looking like an ape/not ape, a twin

hemp rope hair holding in serious funk

he’s the devil, a living sin, an abomination

don’t get caught lest you be painted bloody.

What’s murder to you for them is mere fun

for lunch, a Grimbal will lay you in a bun

but he never has to pay because you’re free.

Yet night has become most curious

for the Grimbals have created a new way

they’ve leapt out of dreams plus

appearing not till dusk, or between;

using cloudy days as a wrap.

I see you don’t understand, you’re not cautious

but the Grimbals have come out to play

striking without fear, and O! Fun! The Fun!

seems insomnia is the infernal key.

A Grimbal begins by smashing your left knee

so painful, this is to ensure you can’t run

he’ll tear your right arm off

while holding it aloft

then run to bury it in yonder hay loft.

And your eyes?... Yes, what about your eyes…

their terror manual states eyes are to be doffed

perched on top of their head no matter the size

hope till now you’ve had a wonderful life

for you’ve just five more minutes to live.
