Utopia

If I could change the world, I would make it a happier place,

I would fill it with smiles, hugs and never a frowny face.

I would lock up bitterness, hatred and greed.

Hope would be found and love would be freed.

People would help without seeking reward.

There would be no need to die by gun, bomb or sword.

People would listen to new ideas with care.

They would forgive and forget and learn how to share.

But what of this world could ever be true?

The answer could begin with me and with you.

So smile brightly and laugh out loud.

Even when you fail, stand proud.

Admit it when you are wrong.

Tell a stranger they belong.

Cry and laugh and make new friends.

Find the love that never ends.

Tell the truth and try your best.

Take life slow and get your rest.

Try new things and look around.

Make a list of the good you’ve found.

Never, ever give up hope.

Be there to help the hurting cope.

Share your love with family and friends.

Once we find our own joy, the real change begins.
